The Bible says about the creation of Adam "…God created Adam in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them. (Genesis 1:27) and that means that Adam has been created having two sides, male and female already in the beginning. Why does it say later that Eve was created from Adam's rib? "…Then the Lord God made a woman from the rib, and he brought her to Adam." (Genesis 2:22). The Talmud and the Zohar explain that Adam had two sides, male and female. God split between the two in order to create Eve while the word "rib" is a mistranslation of "Tsela" that means really a side. Why was the word rib chosen instead of the word side?
